Our Story
G&L Student Transportation started its long history as the Gross Equipment Company, originally founded by William P. Gross in the 1950's.
William got his start in business buying and selling bus chassis and later became a dealer for Carpenter and Thomas franchise.
In 1965 William acquired a bus company's contract for student transportation in the Owen J Roberts School District and subsequently formed Gross School Bus Service in 1968. This was his start of a long career dedicated to the safe and efficient transportation of students. Over the years Mr. Gross grew the business by securing additional transportation contracts with Great Valley School District, Conewago Valley SD, Muhlenberg SD, Reading SD, Brandywine Heights, Fleetwood School District, Governor Mifflin School District, Oxford School District, Wyomissing School District, and Upper Perkiomen School District.
In 2010 he diversified the company by contract to form four other companies under Gross Equipment Company - Gross School Bus Services, Oxford Transportation, Coventry Transportation, and Keystone School Bus Service.
In 2016, at age 90, William decided that it was time for retirement and sold the companies to Landmark Student Transportation.
